October 26, 2025. Ewe Loyalty Foundation (ELF), a non-governmental organization (NGO) on Saturday October 25 launched its five years of existence under the theme "5 Years of Serving Humanity Together: Celebrating Loyalty and Our Next Steps" with a call on all Voltarians and other stakeholders to unite and pull resources together towards the development of the region. The launch also marks the foundation's annual general meeting. October- 13 - 2025 The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region has organised a tree planting exercise to mark this year’s international day for disaster risk reduction. The programme, was held on Monday October 13, under a national campaign theme:"Fund Resilience Not Disaster." The exercise focused on environmental sustainability through tree planting and education. The tree planting exercise saw NADMO officials and pupils from some basic schools in the municipality plant over 1000 tree seedlings at the schools and some  communities. Some of these communities includes Gamadzra, Yame, Lente Wute and some parts of Wudoaba. The tree species planted included Acacia, Eucalyptus, Neem and Terminalia which were acquired from the Forestry Commission. The municipal chief executive, Hon. 1st October, 2025 Madam Faustina Elikplim Korwu, the Assembly member for Avoeme West Electoral Area in the Ketu South Municipality has donated some educational materials to pupils of Avoeme Basic School. Over 100 school uniforms, exercise books and school bags were presented to the pupils during a short ceremony. Hon. Faustina Elikplim Korwu reiterated her commitment to motivating the pupils to take their studies seriously to enable them to have a brighter future. “It’s my personal motivational scheme instituted to encourage our children to make education their priority regardless of where they find themselves.” She revealed the gesture received funding from her own pocket and support from some individuals adding, “this has been my commitment in recent years which I will continue to do.” Mr. William Katamani, headteacher of the school who received the items on behalf of the school and pupils, thanked the assembly member for the kind gesture.
