September 18, 2026. The Assembly Member for the Blekusu Electoral Area in the Ketu South Municipality, Hon. Raphael Nukamewor, in collaboration with headteachers of basic schools in the area, has organised an educational talk forum aimed at inspiring students to make responsible choices and improve their academic performance. The forum, held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Blekusu R.C. Basic School, was held under the theme “Your Choice Today, Your Life Tomorrow” and brought together 475 students from the four public and private schools within the electoral area. AGBOZUME, Sept. 19, 2026. Thousands of residents of the Somè Traditional Area on Saturday took to the streets for a mega health walk to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Somètutuza, with a strong call for peace, unity and the preservation of the area’s rich cultural heritage. The colourful health walk, organised by the Somè Traditional Council, attracted close to 5,000 participants of all ages, including traditional leaders, political actors, youth groups and residents from communities within and around the Somè Traditional Area. The initiative formed part of activities marking the Golden Jubilee of Somètutuza and was aimed at promoting peace, unity and healthy living ahead of the grand durbar scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026. DENU, KETU SOUTH — The Denu Chicago Basic School in the Ketu South Municipality has received a new four-unit modern toilet facility, following a joint intervention by the Ras Muta Foundation and the Denu Nugoryiyi Foundation. The facility was handed over to the school on Wednesday by the Ras Muta Foundation, led by Mr. Seth Sizzla Nyasorgbor, and the Denu Nugoryiyi Foundation, led by the Assembly Member for the Denu Electoral Area, Hon. Jerry Sorokpo, has petitioned the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to urgently restore the operations of the Agbozume Water System and organise a stakeholder town hall meeting to address the prolonged water crisis in the community. In the petition addressed to the Volta Regional Manager of Ghana Water Company Limited in Ho, Mr. Sorokpo said the collapse of the Agbozume water supply system had left residents facing serious water shortages, economic hardship and sanitation challenges in schools and communities. According to the petition, the Agbozume Community Borehole, which was constructed by a corporate organisation and subsequently handed over to Agbozume stakeholders for management by GWCL, collapsed in mid-2023 during a period of heavy rainfall and severe flooding. The Youth and Development Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Mr. Felix Akonta Akakpo, popularly known as Torgbui Tenuvi II, has supported 300 outstanding Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates in the Ketu South Municipality with essential educational materials to facilitate their transition to Senior High School (SHS). The presentation took place at Viepe R.C Basic School in the Ketu South Municipality, where each of the 300 beneficiaries received a student mattress, trunk, Ghana Education Service (GES)-approved chop box and bucket. He explained that TADEF would help reactivate a vital sponsorship scheme for talented but financially disadvantaged young people while complementing existing scholarship and capacity-building initiatives being undertaken by the Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Hon.
