The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. Aflao, July 16, 2026 – The Torkor Circuit Court in the Ketu South Municipality has sentenced a head porter, Akpalu Prince, to 10 years' imprisonment with hard labour after he pleaded guilty to a robbery charge. The prosecution, led by Chief Inspector McRae Pomevor, told the court that the complainant, an officer of the Ghana Immigration Service stationed at Aflao, was waiting by the roadside at Ave Maria Junction on July 13, 2026, while holding her iPhone 12 valued at GH¢3,600. According to the prosecution, the convict suddenly attacked the complainant, snatched the mobile phone and attempted to flee.
