Assembly member donates school uniforms, exercise books and school bags to Avoeme Basic School.

Madam Faustina Elikplim Korwu, the Assembly member for Avoeme West Electoral Area in the Ketu South Municipality has donated some educational materials to pupils of Avoeme Basic School.


Over 100 school uniforms, exercise books and school bags were presented to the pupils during a short ceremony.




Hon. Faustina Elikplim Korwu reiterated her commitment to motivating the pupils to take their studies seriously to enable them to have a brighter future.


“It’s my personal motivational scheme instituted to encourage our children to make education their priority regardless of where they find themselves.”



She revealed the gesture received funding from her own pocket and support from some individuals adding, “this has been my commitment in recent years which I will continue to do.”


Mr. William Katamani, headteacher of the school who received the items on behalf of the school and pupils, thanked the assembly member for the kind gesture.



He further tasked the pupils to take good care and make good use of the materials given to them.


Hon. Faustina Elikplim Korwu every year donates educational materials to the school as part of her commitment to supporting education in the her Electoral Area.

She urged the students to abstain from all sexual related activities and drug abuse.


The beneficiary students expressed their joy and gratitude to the Assembly member, promising that they will take good care of the items and learn hard for a better future.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
