Godwin Anumu Steps Up Support for Education, Donates 370 Exercise Books to Ketu South Pupils.

In a significant move to ease the educational burden on struggling families and improve learning conditions in basic schools, Mr. Godwin Anumu, a Unit Committee Member of the Akame Electoral Area in the Ketu South Municipality, has donated 370 pieces of exercise books to pupils of St. James Basic School at Adzablikope, and Akame R.C. Basic School.


The donation, according to Mr. Anumu, is part of his commitment to supporting children from financially challenged households and ensuring that lack of basic learning materials does not become a barrier to their education.


Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Anumu expressed concern that some parents and guardians struggle to provide essential educational materials for their children due to financial difficulties.


He noted that the situation sometimes forces pupils to sit idle in classrooms while lessons are ongoing because they do not have exercise books to write notes or complete assignments.

He therefore called for greater support for children, stressing that every child deserves the opportunity to learn in a conducive environment irrespective of the financial circumstances of their parents.


Mr. Anumu urged the beneficiaries to take their studies seriously, remain disciplined and work hard to achieve their dreams.


He assured the pupils that the gesture would not be a one-off intervention, promising to continue supporting them with educational materials every academic year as part of his contribution to the development of education in the area.

He also appealed to individuals, corporate organisations, NGOs, philanthropists and other well-meaning members of society to support children in deprived circumstances.


Receiving the items on behalf of the pupils at St. James Basic School, the Headmistress, Mrs. Paulina Dorkenu, expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Anumu for the timely intervention.


She assured him that the exercise books would be put to their intended purpose and would help pupils participate more effectively in classroom activities.


At Akame R.C. Basic School, the Headmaster, Mr. Gabriel Kufoalor, also commended the donor for his generosity.

He appealed to other individuals, organisations and development partners to come to the aid of the school and help provide the resources needed to support quality education.


The PTA Chairman of the school, Prophet Wisdom Liashiedzi Nyamadzorse, speaking on behalf of parents, thanked Mr. Anumu for helping to reduce the financial pressure on families.


He urged other philanthropists and organisations to emulate the gesture by supporting children whose parents are unable to meet all their educational needs.


Prophet Nyamadzorse further advised parents to place the education of their children above competing financial priorities, describing education as one of the most important investments they can make in their children's future.


The beneficiary pupils expressed their appreciation to Mr. Anumu for the support and promised to make good use of the exercise books.

The donation has been widely welcomed as a practical intervention that could help remove one of the everyday barriers confronting pupils from economically disadvantaged homes while reinforcing the importance of community participation in education.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
