Oh God of Abraham!!!

Where have we gone wrong as a nation, Ghana then Gold Coast?

The above question is a big one I may say, but who is there to perfectly answer me this question? It is absolutely obvious, looking at the current state we're in as a country.

I assumed and perceived that this question can only be answered by our forefathers who actually fought and shared their precious blood for the freedom of this nation, which our countrymen of today don't even want their single sweat to drop down before they get wealth to their coffers. 

And if not so, they should've follow the footsteps of their earlier predecessors who toiled for this nation, called Ghana.

I assumed the above question could be best answered by them because on record, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah said and I quote ''the battle is over and Ghana is free forever.'' And also made it known to the whole world that the Blackman is capable of managing his own affairs. 

In fact, these lines in his speech keeps manipulating my thoughts considering the current state in which we're and where we've reach now as one of the oldest independent nation.

Do we have to be 6th March paraders only?

Do we have to spend holidays on this day and that's all instead of building clinics, schools, enterprises to be commissioned on this particular day to commemorate those who really fought for this country? 

One aspect of this whole issue when it comes to consideration is that, if some advocates like us try to delve into matters as such, then any party in government get us wrong, tagging us as belonging to opposition parties.

This attitude is what brought us to where we're now as a nation.

You'll see a patriotic citizens supporting ideologies which you could see that it's absolutely invaluable to the Ghanaian society all because he is affiliated to that political party and sadly we all do suffer the aftermaths of such ideologies and policies. 

Rating on percentage(%), considering the governance of our forefathers and what we are seeing now, which mark could you give on developmental issues in terms of infrastructure, human resources and better living conditions? 

I leave it to you the reader to do your own analysis and rating. 

It's really sad seeing some abandon buildings deteriorate day by day meanwhile there are students living and studying under trees yet those buildings has turned white elephants just because it a project started by a government which is no more in power.

It's an agony.

And I can say categorically that the Developmental plan that we do not have as a nation is the cause of all these.

You will see some health centres that when it rains, patients admitted in the beds have to be beaten by the rain. And when you see the condition of some of the beds, Hmmm! mercy Lord. Some of these patients are pregnant women on maternity and many others. 

So one of my doubts is that, does it mean our leaders of today do not know and think of this developmental plans?

They can bring on board a constitutional instrument to regulate this plans but what do we see more often these days?

Excessive amendment to our constitution on C.I that are really not necessary. 

It’s indeed sad to see Ghana at were she is today.

What happen to Ghana beyond aid policy?

In fact, Ghana beyond aid is a very good and laudable initiative but what happen to it so soon?

Hmmm mercy!!!

68years on, after independence. 

Are we really independent? 

We do criticize colonization as something which wasn't good but the buildings such as the castles, forts, schools and others that the colonial masters built are still of help to us since we are not in that capacity to build in excess.

Government after government do take us to International Monetary Fund(IMF) and we're calling ourselves independent nation.

It's time to stop deceiving ourselves and face the reality.

There are countries in the world today that are doing very well in terms of economic stability yet Ghana who got independent so many years before them is still struggling to stabilize her economy. 

Hmm Ghana! Our motherland, where at all have we gone wrong?

Fellow patriots, let's support our leaders to do the right things and discourage the wrong doings. 

Party affiliation doesn't change who you are, just stand firm on the right deeds and who knows, through you, Ghana could stand on her two feets again.

Remember, we shall know them by their fruits.
