Denu Health Centre to have new ward complex.

The Chief Executive Officer of Let your light shine enterprise at Denu in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, Mr. Vincent Gbadegbe, on Friday September 19, 2025 cut sod for the construction of a new ward complex at the Denu Health Centre. 


The project is aimed at providing a dedicated, comfortable space for people of Denu and the entire municipality at large requiring medical care.


Mr. Gbadegbe explained that the idea for the facility emerged after a visit to the facility and realized that there is no accomodation to admit people for proper care and attention when the need arises.

The ward complex will cater not only for the sick but also for the pregnant women who will come to deliver and need to stay for proper medical attention, recognising that many new mothers that needed to be kept for check ups are always discharged due to lack of accommodation.


Mr. Gbadegbe assured the media that the project will be completed in just two months, saying everything that is needed for the work to be completed is ready.


"Though I cannot mention the exact amount that will go into this work, I know it's a lot of money and I must do it to support my community" he said.


"No, we can't wait on the government to do everything, we suppose to support the government, so am urging everyone out there that have the ability to support his or her community in a small way, let's do it and God will reward us" he concluded.


The assembly member of the area, Hon. Israel Selikem Bossman, stated that the facility is the only government health centre in the area which is about years old and it is their prayer to develop it to Polyclinic though it started as CHIP compound.


He mentioned that the project if completed will enhance health delivery for the whole municipality. 


"This is not the first time Efo Vincent is doing a project here, he was the one that tilled our OPD, he also supported in our almost complete medical laboratory for the facility as a citizen and we are grateful to him" He said.

He used the opportunity to express his gratitude to Mr. Gbadegbe for his love for the people of Denu and urge him, to hold onto his love for the people.


Hon. Bossman used the opportunity to appeal to all well meaning citizens of Denu and Ketu South to help their various communities in their small way for the growth of the municipality.


The community health management committee chairman of the area, Hon. David Anani Eglu also express his gratitude to Mr. Gbadegbe for this great initiative. He used the opportunity to appeal to the citizens to be visiting the site regularly to render any help that may be needed to the workers.


Torgbui Baku IV, the Dufia of Denu thanked Mr. Gbadegbe for all what he is doing for the town.


"I just want to assure my son that the project will go on successful and nothing will stop it, am engineer so I will also be visiting the site regularly to offer my help if the need arises" Torgbui promised.


Dr. Kingsley Gyemfi who is in charge of the facility express his joy and gratitude for the project.

"It is not easy to have prominent people around us to support community projects and to seek for the growth of the community, so we thank God for the life of our brother" he stated.


"We pray he has more strength to complete what he just started so that the clinic will grow to serve the people of the community and beyond" he concluded

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
