Battor Traditional Area to celebrate Hogbeza on December, 13.

The 2025 Hogbeza will take place at Dugame-Battor in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region on 13th December, 2025.

It will be attended by the President, HE John Dramani Mahama, and the Volta Regional Minister, Hon Gunu.



This was disclosed by the paramount chief of Battor Traditional Area, who is the Vice President of the Volta Regional House of chiefs and a member of the National House of chiefs, Togbega Patamia Dzekley VII, in a speech at a mini Hogbeza held at Manya-Battor on the 15th of November, 2025, to herald the main festival in December.


He praised the chiefs and people of Manya and Kodokorpe for hosting the mini durbar and called for forgiveness and peace.

He called on the people to attend the festival and contribute to the development of the area.

The chairman of the mini Hogbeza, Mr Harrison Vortuame, observed that festivals are one of the vessels of developments and bemoaned conditions that obstructed Hogbeza over the years. He was, however, happy that Hogbeza was resurrected to raise money to continue some projects by the planning committee but stalled over the years.


He expressed the hope that with the mini Hogbeza having been celebrated in an unexpected grand style, the way is now clear for continuous celebration.

Despite the short notice due to uncertainties surrounding the festival, the mini festival was heavily attended with different cultural troupes in attendance.


Togbe Akliku II, chief of the Gblevie Clan and Acting Vice President of the Hogbeza Planning Committee, commended the people for showing up in their numbers despite the short notice, a demonstration of willingness to support the development of Battor.

'Dollar Ladies," a welfare Association of some ladies of Battor, uniquely dressed in white T-shirts with an A1-labeled cap to match, also graced the occasion.

They made a cash donation of GHc1,000.00 and promised to not just promote the upcoming Hogbeza, but also make more donations during the festival in December.

Patrons of the mini Hogbeza expressed joy at the programme and described it as entertaining.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
