Ketu South MP donates sewing machines and other equipments to constituents.

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency and  Minister for Tourism Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie has donated 25 sewing machines, 10 hair dryers and 7 boxes of mobile phone repairing kits to some individuals that enrolled under her apprenticeship initiative in a short ceremony held at the Ketu South Municipal assembly today, Monday January 26, 2026.

The beneficiaries include 24 seamstresses, 1 tailor, 10 hair dressers and 7 phone repairers across the constituency.


The Ketu South lawmaker stated that the initiative is to enable the beneficiaries to start their own businesses.



The donation of the items followed the beneficiaries 1 year apprenticeship  and NVTI certified initiated and financed by the MP.


Presenting the items, Hon. Gomashie said she was delighted to contribute towards the future development of the 41 young men and women. She promised further assistance to residents in the constituency, stressing that the role of the youth in national development could not be under-estimated and urged men to respect women and not to denigrate them. 


She asked the beneficiaries to be proud of the vocation they had chosen and urged them to make the best out of the tools provided them to support themselves and their families. 



Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worclachie, the Municipal chief executive thanked the MP for her support and urged the beneficiaries to work hard to better their lives by becoming financially independent in their finances.


He also used the opportunity to advise to youth to value artisan and not to only focus on government works or white colour jobs.



The Youth Employment Agency director, Mr. Joseph Kukpawu also urge the general public especially to  apply and take part in the government's program for training the youth.


He said anyone that applies for the work of his or her own choice will benefit from a monthly allowance of Ghc 500.00 and tools and materials for starting their own shops after graduation.



Some beneficiaries express their joy and thank the MP for her support and promised to use the equipments for the needed purpose.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
