I’ll contest NPP Deputy General Secretary position — Assembly Member declares.

The assembly member for Akame Electoral Area in the Ketu South Constituency, Hon. Wilfred Kwabla Dakunya, has declared his intention to contest the Deputy General Secretary position in Ketu South for opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the party’s next constituency executive election.


He said the party needed bold, innovative and pragmatic leadership as it sought to win the 2028 elections and return to power.


In an interview, Mr Dakunya stated that he possessed the exemplary leadership and experience to lead the NPP as its deputy general secretary and return the NPP to the seat of government.


“The NPP needs innovation, energy and unity, and I am ready to serve the party,” he said


Outlining his vision for repositioning the NPP for electoral victory in the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections, Mr. Dakunya promised to bring bold, tech-driven leadership to strengthen the party's future and victory in the next election.


“I have decided to contest for the deputy general secretary position of our great party. The time has come to inject new energy, innovative ideas and strategic thinking into the administrative leadership of the NPP,” he stated.


He also stressed the importance of building a strong, united party grounded in effective communication, grassroots mobilisation and youth engagement.


He emphasised the need for a deputy  secretary who was not only committed to party unity but also forward-thinking in leveraging digital tools and data to strengthen the NPP’s organisational capacity across the constituency

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
