Nogokpo rekindles the spirit of communal labour.

The chiefs and people of Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region today, Saturday, February 7, undertook a massive cleanup exercise to rid the town of filth and promote communal unity.


The exercise led by the divisional chief of the town, Torgbui Sabah V; the assembly member, Hon. Jonas Fotor Agbagba, the unit committee members, the opinion leaders and the residents cleared and swept the town's bushy cemetery.


Torgbui Sabah urged residents to stay united and proposed regu­lar cleanup exercises to maintain the town’s cleanliness, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in keeping Nogokpo clean and beautiful.



The assembly member, Hon. Jonas Fotor Agbagba, states that the cleanup exercise will not be a nine-day wonder.


"These exercises will not stop here; we will be doing this twice every month to make our beloved town clean and beautiful," he said.


"As the president initiated, every first Saturday of every month we will be cleaning our environment, and also the first Keta market day after the first Saturday," he added."



Anyone who fails to honor will be brought to book," he concluded. 


Mr. Lawrence Wonder Kpexor, a unit committee member of the area on behalf of the youth and good people of Nogokpo, was very grateful to Torgbui and his elders for joining them. He also praised the residents for coming out in their numbers to participate in the exercise. 


"I am very grateful to all of us for coming out today in our numbers to participate in this month's cleanup exercise. I can say we have made history today because in the past, when we called for this, only a few people always honored it, but today we are almost 200, and it is beautiful," he said.


"I will appeal to all of you to keep it up because cleanliness, they say, is next to godliness," he added.



"To those that refuse to care, as our assembly member stated, the laws of the country will be enforced, and no one should tag us wicked when we start implementing the law," he concluded. 


The community members expressed their excitement and gratitude to Torgbui and the leadership for the initiative, promising their full cooperation for future clean-ups.



The exercise has brought a new look to the Nogokpo town, and residents are optimistic about the benefits of a clean environment, which will inure to the benefit of the Nogokpo people and the community as a whole.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
