The Somè Senior High School Old Students Association in collaboration with the school administration, is set to launch the school's 60th anniversary on Friday February 27, 2026.

The much anticipated launch of the 60th anniversary celebration has been scheduled for three days on campus starting from Wednesday February 25 to Friday February 27, 2026 on the theme "Sixty Years of Educational Excellent, Overcoming Challenges, And The Role of The Stakeholder"

According to the 60th anniversary planning committee and management of the school, the occasion will have in attendance Ketu South Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklachie as the Guest of Honour, Proff Rudith Sylvana King, the Vice Dean of students from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) as the Chairperson, Mr. Felix Y. Adjavor as a keynote speaker and Mr. Spencer Agbemenu the headmaster of the school.

The launch is scheduled to take place at the school's premises on Friday, February 27 at 9:00 am.

The Lacoste

The planning committee and the management of the school encourage all past students of the Great Somè Senior High School, parents and the general public to participate in the anniversary celebration.


The old students are encouraged to show interest and start mobilizing funds as year group level to support the program.


According to the Old Students Association and the school management, Wednesday 25th, is scheduled for Educational talk on discipline, Thursday 26th will be a float through the principal street in and around Agbozume and Saturday 27th, will be the grand launch.


Somè Senior High School (Sosec)is located at Agbozume in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region of Ghana.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. His scale of operation includes maize 62.5 acres, Cassava 52 acres, Okro 10 acres, Cowpea 10 acres, Chilli Paper 5 acres, Coconut 5 acres, 20 Cattle, 30 goats, 10 sheeps, 10 Turkeys, 20 Guinea Fowls, 20 doves and 175 local poultry The over 60 years experience farmer receiving his award, thanked the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
