Ketu South MCE Urges BECE Candidates to Shun Malpractice, Embrace Integrity.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, Nicholas Kwabla Worklachie has called on Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates to uphold academic honesty as they undertake their final examination.


During inspections at Somè Senior High School examination centers A and B, the MCE emphasized that true achievement comes through diligent preparation rather than shortcuts, warning that examination malpractice could jeopardize future opportunities. 



"I am here today on my own behalf, on behalf of our MP, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie and on behalf of the president of the republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to extend their well wishes to you all as you seat for your first ever external examination" he stated.


 "I am here this morning to give you hope, encourage you, inspire you that examination is nothing to be afraid of, it is rather an opportunity for you to express yourself what you have learnt in the past" he added.



He mentioned that the exams they are starting today is just the same us the ones they have been writing in their schools pointing that the only difference is this one is an external examination and will be marked by who they don't know.


He urged the candidates to relax, take time to write clearly, boldly and not to be afraid and they will come out with flying colours.


"So I urge all of you to write well, this is the beginning, if you start well you will end well, I don't expect any of you to begin with fear but begin with joy, confidence, courage and with hope" he advised.



"Don't have the temptation of peping on your friends work, that is examination mal practicing. Try as much as possible to control yourself and write what you know, do not make any attempt of stretching your necks in other to see what your friend or brother is writing and don't attempt bringing any foreign material to the examination hall".


"I therefore invoke the spirit of God, may the Holy spirit guide you towards a successful end of your exam, be courageous and hopeful that you will pass and pass very well" he concluded.


Mr. Worclachie urges the invigilators to do their work with professionalism and avoid any form of examination malpractice. He urge them to not to give or allowed help to the candidates before, during and after the examination.



A total number 17 schools with 392 candidates are expected to be at center A while 9 schools with 351 candidates are expected to be present at center B.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. His scale of operation includes maize 62.5 acres, Cassava 52 acres, Okro 10 acres, Cowpea 10 acres, Chilli Paper 5 acres, Coconut 5 acres, 20 Cattle, 30 goats, 10 sheeps, 10 Turkeys, 20 Guinea Fowls, 20 doves and 175 local poultry The over 60 years experience farmer receiving his award, thanked the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
