Volta Regional Lands Commission Board Member Declares Bid for Ketu South NDC Vice Chairmanship.

Mr. Daniel Jerry Sorokpo, a Volta Regional Lands Commission Board Member, graduate professional teacher, and researcher, has officially announced his intention to contest for the Ketu South Constituency Vice Chairmanship of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2026 constituency elections.


Mr. Sorokpo, regarded as one of the most experienced figures in the party within the constituency, made the declaration on his Facebook page.


He stated that over the years, he has been a loyal member of the NDC and played a vital role in the party’s victory in the 2024 general election.


He added that his political journey has been shaped by mentorship and guidance from the entire membership of the party, and he is ready to serve.


"My fellow grassroots comrades and branch executives, having worked and studied closely with you over the years, I have realized that serving the great National Democratic Congress (NDC) requires vision, true dedication, and unity to restore Ketu South — our World Bank — to its rightful status," he stated.



Mr. Sorokpo clarified that his interest is not merely to occupy a position, but to assist the substantive Chairman to deliver on his mandate and to work closely with constituency executives, branch executives, and the grassroots to introduce fresh ideas that will elevate the constituency to greater heights.


He stressed that his commitment will focus on serving as a servant leader for branch executives and stakeholders, ensuring their voices are heard at all levels of the party.


"I will prioritize jobs, accessibility, and the welfare of branch executives as my core agenda. I will unite and mobilize our base to strengthen the party for victory in 2028," he added.


"I therefore humbly appeal to all members of the great NDC, especially branch executives who are the pillars of our grassroots base, to join me on this journey. My victory is our collective victory. Let us do it together for our party, God, and country. Together we can, and together we will," he said.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
