Somè Senior High School Old Students Association to hold general meeting ahead of 60th Anniversary celebration.

Somè Senior High School Old Students Association (SSOSA) have scheduled 3rd July, 2026 as a General Meeting day for all Old Students of the school at the school's dinning hall ahead of their 60th Anniversary Celebration in October 


Speaking to the General Secretary of the Association, Mr. Godson Sena Adjavor, he noted that as they are preparing towards the 60th Anniversary Celebration on October 31st,  they have planned to meet with all the Old Students of the school ahead of the celebration to deliberate on how  to have a successful celebration and projects they intend doing in the school 


Mr. Adjavor mentioned that their main objective is to build 800 bed capacity dormitory for the girls in the school. 


"The current 200 bed capacity dormitory for the ladies in the school is occupied by over 600 students and we think this does not speak well with our dear Alma Mater" he stated



He also mentioned that even though the boys dormitory is nothing good to right home about, they have chosen the girls dormitory in order to promote girl child education


He also noted that after completion of the said project, the current girls dormitory will be occupied by the boys


Mr. Adjavor used the opportunity to urged all the old students to be proud of their school and bring their quota for the development of the school.

"Let's remember that it's SOSEC that made us who we are today and we must be proud of our Alma Mater. Without GREAT SOSEC, I don't think we can be who we are today and this is the time to pay back to our Alma Mater " Mr Adjavor stated.

"Currently it is Old Students that are building their schools, all the big schools that we have be hearing of in the country have been built by their old students and Sosec shouldn't be different, so let's all come on board to make GREAT SOSEC, GREATER SOSEC " He added


Mr. Adjavor also mentioned that during the meeting,  all the old students will be briefed on how the said dormitory will look like. He also noted that it will be an opportunity to meet old friends, make new friends and also might be a life changing opportunity for some people because they might meet fellow alumni that will be a blessing to them.



"Some of our old colleagues are CEOs of their own companies and some even working at the presidency, who knows if you come and meet these people, we can link you up with them and you will be employed if you are not yet employed" he advised


Mr. Adjavor used the opportunity to appeal to NGOs, individuals and the general public to assist them build the school.



The Somè Senior High School (SOSEC) is situated at Agbozume in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region of Ghana. It was founded in 1966 by the Agbozume Scholars Association (ASA) and christened Agbozume Secondary School. It was administered as a Private Community Institution until 11th October 1977 when it was absorbed into the Public School System.



The school’s Motto – “Tso Nakle” (Arise and Shine) is a clarion call to the students to arise and shine wherever they are. In other words, it is urging them to be the beacon of the society wherever they are and live up to their responsibilities and expectations.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon.
