Atidefe Foundation Is Not a Political Party, Founder Clarifies.

Hon. Thomas Yao Atidefe, Founder of the Atidefe Foundation, has clarified that the Foundation is neither a political party nor affiliated with any political party. He said the Foundation is an independent, non-partisan organization dedicated to humanitarian service and community development, and urged the public to disregard any claims or misinformation suggesting otherwise.


Hon. Atidefe made the clarification on the morning show on Shine 96.9 FM, hosted by Cosmos Amenposh, where he appeared alongside members of the Foundation's management team to inform the public about the Foundation's upcoming fifth anniversary celebration. The celebration will feature a free coconut seedlings distribution exercise and a Youth Empowerment Forum aimed at supporting community members and empowering young people.


According to him, he decided to use the opportunity to address what he described as misconceptions among some individuals who have assumed that the Atidefe Foundation is a political party or has links with political parties. He stressed that such claims are inaccurate, explaining that the Foundation operates independently and is not backed or controlled by any political organization.


Hon. Atidefe explained that the Foundation was created with the objective of supporting communities through social interventions, youth empowerment initiatives, and development-oriented programmes. He emphasized that the Foundation welcomes beneficiaries from all backgrounds and does not discriminate based on political beliefs or affiliations.


He stated that the work of the Foundation is driven by the desire to make a positive impact in society and not to advance any political agenda. He added that the various initiatives undertaken by the Foundation are focused on addressing community needs and creating opportunities for individuals, particularly the youth.


The Founder also appealed to the public to be cautious about information they receive from unofficial sources, especially when such information seeks to misrepresent the objectives of the Foundation. He noted that false assumptions can affect public confidence and urged individuals to rely on verified information from the Foundation and its authorized representatives.


Hon. Atidefe further stated that the Foundation’s fifth anniversary celebration is scheduled for 25th July, 2026, at the Akatsi RC Park, and called on the general public to attend and witness what he described as a mega event. He encouraged everyone to participate, adding that attendees will also have the opportunity to receive free coconut seedlings to plant as part of the Foundation’s initiative to promote agriculture and sustainable livelihoods.


He disclosed that this year’s celebration is focused on two major areas of concern: farming and education. According to him, the Foundation selected these areas because of their importance in building a better future and creating opportunities for individuals and communities. He encouraged everyone who attends the event to pay attention, participate actively and learn something meaningful from the activities and discussions that will take place.


He revealed that the event will attract a number of distinguished personalities and dignitaries who have confirmed their support and participation. Among those expected to grace the occasion are the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu; His Eminence Dr. Gabriel Kwamigah Tanko Atokple, Council of State Member representing the Volta Region; Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, Member of Parliament for Akatsi South Municipal and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament; and Hon. Daniel Dagbba, Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South Municipal.


He added that the Overlord of the Avenor Traditional Area, His Royal Majesty Torgbi Dorglo Anumah VI, who is also the President of the Avenor Traditional Council of Chiefs, will also be among the respected dignitaries expected at the event, alongside other traditional leaders, stakeholders and invited guests.


He explained that the free coconut seedlings distribution exercise forms part of the Foundation’s commitment to supporting economic empowerment and encouraging individuals to engage in productive agricultural activities. He noted that the Youth Empowerment Forum will also provide a platform for young people to gain knowledge, inspiration and opportunities that can contribute to their personal growth and development.


Hon. Atidefe encouraged stakeholders, community leaders and the general public to support initiatives that promote development and improve livelihoods. He reiterated that the Atidefe Foundation will continue to operate as an independent humanitarian organization focused on service, empowerment and community development, regardless of political affiliation.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country.
