Atidefe Foundation to Distribute 4,000 Free Coconut Seedlings in Phase Five Edition.

The Atidefe Foundation is set to distribute 4,000 free coconut seedlings as part of the Phase Five Edition of its Free Coconut Seedlings Distribution Project and Youth Empowerment Forum, scheduled for 25th July, 2026, at Akatsi RC Park at 9:00 a.m.


The Foundation’s decision to increase the number of seedlings for this year’s edition follows the remarkable growth and expansion of the initiative over the years. In previous editions, the number of coconut seedlings distributed was relatively lower, but due to the growing recognition, impact, and increasing demand for the programme, the Foundation has significantly increased the allocation to 4,000 seedlings in this Phase Five edition.


The success of the previous editions has further encouraged the Foundation to expand the programme. Beneficiaries from earlier phases, particularly the 2022 edition, have expressed satisfaction as many of the coconut seedlings distributed have grown successfully and started producing, demonstrating the positive impact and sustainability of the initiative.


The initiative forms part of the Foundation’s commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting livelihoods, and empowering communities through practical development interventions.


The Foundation has also announced that registration for the free coconut seedlings has received a massive response, with a large number of people already registering to benefit from the programme. The initial registration process has now been closed due to the overwhelming participation.


However, in accordance with an official notice signed by Miss Happy Darrah, the registration process will be reopened on the day of the event, 25th July, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to allow additional interested persons to complete registration and access the free coconut seedlings.


This year’s edition is expected to be a major event, bringing together traditional leaders, government officials, stakeholders, farmers, youth groups, and members of the general public for a day of empowerment, agricultural development, and community engagement.


The growth of the project over the years reflects the Foundation’s dedication to creating long-term economic opportunities for individuals and communities. The successful performance of seedlings distributed in previous editions has motivated more people to embrace coconut farming as a sustainable source of livelihood.


The Foundation believes that the Phase Five edition will further strengthen its impact by reaching more beneficiaries and encouraging more community members to venture into agriculture. The distribution of the 4,000 coconut seedlings is expected to contribute to environmental sustainability, income generation, and improved livelihoods for beneficiaries.


Beyond the coconut seedlings distribution, the Phase Five edition will also focus on empowering young people through the Youth Empowerment Forum and other social interventions introduced by the Foundation. The programme will provide a platform for participants to gain knowledge, interact with leaders, and explore opportunities for personal and community development.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country.
