David Sitsofe Tamakloe, Ketu South NADMO Support 125 Flood Victims at Agbozume-Ahorkpoe.

A philanthropist and native of Klikor-Kpordoave in the Ketu South Municipality, Mr. David Sitsofe Tamakloe, in collaboration with the Ketu South office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has donated relief items to 125 flood victims at Agbozume-Ahorkpoe.


The donation, which took place on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the AME Zion JHS School in Agbozume-Ahorkpoe, was aimed at easing the burden on residents affected by the recent floods in the community.


Mr. Tamakloe disclosed that the intervention was made possible through the support of several private individuals, including Mrs. Veronica Debrah, wife of Ghana's Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, and other benevolent partners.



He explained that the gesture was a way of giving back to the community and supporting vulnerable residents during a difficult period.


While assuring the victims of his continued commitment to community development, Mr. Tamakloe stressed that residents also have a responsibility to help prevent future flooding. He urged community members to actively participate in communal labour to keep drains and waterways clean, noting that although flooding may not necessarily render people homeless, it could lead to the outbreak of diseases.


He expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the donation a success.


The Ketu South Municipal Director of NADMO and aspiring NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, thanked Mr. Tamakloe and his team for their timely intervention on behalf of the municipality.


Mr. Ahorlu also appealed to residents to adopt measures that would reduce the impact of flooding. He advised those living in flood-prone areas to relocate to safer grounds whenever the rainy season approaches to safeguard lives and property.

He further disclosed that the Assembly would soon begin the demolition of structures built on waterways across the municipality as part of efforts to reduce flooding.


Receiving the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Assembly Member for the Ahorkpoe Electoral Area, Mr. Saviour Agbeko Awoye, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donors and assured them that the relief items would be distributed fairly and used for their intended purpose.


He also reminded residents of the importance of participating in the community's monthly communal labour exercise, warning that individuals who refuse to take part would face sanctions in accordance with the law.


Some of the 125 beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the donors, describing the support as timely and promising to make good use of the items received.



The donated items included 30 boxes of Kleesoft bar soap, 30 boxes of Athena bath soap, 30 sacks of powdered soap, 30 boxes of sanitary pads, 10 large packs of toilet rolls, four large packs of table tissue, 20 bags of rice, 10 boxes of cooking oil, 20 boxes of Indomie noodles, 10 packs of sachet water (ball type), 15 packs of long sachet water, and 30 packs of X Cola.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
