James Dorkenoo Memorial School to Hold Vacation Day Celebration and Prefects' Inauguration.

James Dorkenoo Memorial School at Akame-Aborme in the Ketu South Municipality is set to hold its Vacation Day Celebration and the Inauguration of Newly Elected Prefects on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. on the school's premises.


The event is expected to bring together parents, teachers, students, community leaders, and invited guests to celebrate the successful completion of the academic term while officially swearing in the school's newly elected student leaders.


The programme will be held under the theme: "Inculcating Moral Values in Young Learners Through Academic Excellence for National Development; A Collective Role of Teachers and Parents." The theme highlights the importance of collaboration between schools and families in nurturing disciplined, responsible, and academically excellent children for the nation's future.


The Guest Speaker, Mr. Courage Edwin Amenuda, is expected to deliver an address on the role of moral education, leadership, and academic excellence in shaping the next generation of responsible citizens.


The celebration will feature cultural performances by pupils, entertainment, and other activities showcasing the talents and achievements of students. The inauguration of the newly elected prefects is also expected to inspire leadership, discipline, and service among the student body.


Management of James Dorkenoo Memorial School has extended an invitation to parents, guardians  and members of the public to attend the event and support the school's efforts to promote quality education and character development.


With the motto, "Together We Learn, Together We Succeed!", the school continues to reaffirm its commitment to providing holistic education for children in Akame-Aborme and the wider Ketu South Municipality.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
