Ketu South NADMO distributes relief items to 258 flood victims.

The Ketu South Municipal Office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Tuesday distributed relief items to 258 people affected by recent flooding in Adzablikope, Akame, Yelibato, Gbedzekope, Kpogedi, Aletame and other surrounding communities in the Ketu South Municipality.



The relief items, comprising bags of rice, mosquito nets, bedsheets, rubber buckets, plastic basins and plates, were presented to the affected households to help ease their hardship following the floods.


The distribution exercise was led by Mr. Thomas Allah, who assured the victims that the Government was committed to supporting them through the difficult period.



He urged residents to consult the appropriate authorities before embarking on building projects to ensure the necessary inspections and approvals were carried out.


Mr. Allah also advised community members to desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse into drains and other unauthorised places, saying such practices contributed significantly to flooding in many communities.



He further appealed to residents to revive the spirit of communal labour to ensure regular cleaning of drains and the environment to minimise the occurrence of floods.



Addressing beneficiaries at Adzablikope, Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, Ketu South Municipal Director of NADMO, assured the victims that the Government, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, remained committed to providing support to all persons affected by the floods.



He said the Government would "leave no stone unturned" in its efforts to ensure that every affected household received the necessary assistance.


The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to NADMO and the Government for the timely intervention and pledged to put the relief items to good use while adhering to the advice on environmental sanitation and responsible building practices.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
