Kpedzakope Appeals for Urgent Infrastructure Support to Improve Healthcare, Roads, and School Safety.

Leaders and residents of the Kpedzakope Electoral Area in the Ketu South Municipality have made a strong appeal to the government, development partners, non-governmental organizations, philanthropists, and natives of the community to support critical infrastructure projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents.


The community, known for its peaceful environment and hardworking farmers, traders, and youth, continues to face serious challenges due to the lack of essential social amenities. According to community leaders, these infrastructure deficits are affecting healthcare delivery, transportation, education, and overall socio-economic development.


The community has identified three priority areas that require immediate attention.


The first is the establishment of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound. Kpedzakope currently has no health facility, forcing pregnant women, children, the elderly, and other residents to travel long distances to access healthcare services. Residents say the construction of a CHPS compound would significantly improve access to primary healthcare and save lives.

The second priority is the rehabilitation of the community's road network. Most of the roads within Kpedzakope remain unpaved and are in poor condition. During the rainy season, flooding and erosion make many roads impassable, disrupting transportation and economic activities. The community is therefore appealing for road grading, reshaping, and the construction of effective drainage systems.


The third concern is the need for a perimeter fence around the Kpedzakope Basic School. Community leaders say the school remains exposed to traffic and stray animals, posing a serious risk to pupils and staff. They believe fencing the school is essential to providing a safe and secure learning environment.


Speaking on behalf of the community, Assembly Member Hon. Owusu Romeo Selikem, together with traditional leaders Torgbui Atsu Awuaba V and Torgbui Hodah Alagba, stressed that while they remain hopeful of government intervention, additional support from development partners and individuals is urgently needed.

They appealed to the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, the Member of Parliament, corporate organizations, NGOs, philanthropists, and all sons and daughters of Kpedzakope, both at home and abroad, to join hands in addressing these pressing development needs.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
