NPP Announces Six-Day Nationwide Demonstration Over Chairman Wontumi's Conviction.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to embark on a six-day peaceful nationwide demonstration in protest against the conviction and 20-year prison sentence handed to its Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.


According to a statement signed by the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the demonstration will begin on Saturday, July 25, 2026, and end on Thursday, July 30, 2026.


The party said the protest is intended to express its dissatisfaction with the court's judgment and to demand justice, fairness, and respect for due process. It described the planned action as peaceful and called on all party members, supporters, sympathizers, and well-wishers across the country to participate.


The statement noted that details regarding the venues, routes, and daily activities for the demonstration will be announced in due course.


The NPP further urged participants to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and united throughout the demonstration period.


The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the party's national headquarters and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
