Senior Prefect Urges Unity and Discipline at James Dorkenu Memorial School Vacation Ceremony.

The Senior Prefect of James Dorkenu Memorial School, Miss Christiana Love Agbanyo, has called on pupils to support the newly inaugurated prefects in promoting discipline, unity and academic excellence in the school.


Delivering an acceptance speech on behalf of the newly elected prefects during the school's Vacation Ceremony and Prefects' Inauguration held at Akame-Aborme on Thursday, Miss Agbanyo expressed gratitude to the school management, teachers and pupils for the confidence reposed in them.


She thanked God for making the occasion possible and conveyed the appreciation of the incoming prefects to the Honourable Director, teachers and fellow pupils for entrusting them with the responsibility of leadership.



Miss Agbanyo also paid tribute to the outgoing prefects for their dedication and commitment to maintaining discipline and contributing to the growth of the school. She said their exemplary leadership had inspired the new team to build on the solid foundation they had established.


She noted that leadership was not about power or popularity but about serving others with honesty, humility, discipline, fairness and respect.



The Senior Prefect pledged that the new prefects would lead by example, promote discipline and unity among pupils, work closely with teachers to maintain peace and order, listen to the concerns of students and perform their duties faithfully.


She acknowledged that the task ahead would come with challenges but expressed confidence that, with God's guidance, the support of teachers and the cooperation of pupils, the new prefects would discharge their responsibilities successfully.


Miss Agbanyo appealed to all pupils to cooperate with the prefects in creating a peaceful and conducive learning environment where every learner could thrive.



She concluded by thanking parents, guardians, teachers and all stakeholders for their support and assured them that the new prefects would serve diligently and uphold the good name of James Dorkenu Memorial School.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
