Somè Traditional Council Honours Torgbui Tenuvi II for Exceptional Service to Community Development.

The Somè Traditional Council has honoured Torgbui Tenuvi II (Felix Akonta Akakpo) with a Citation of Honour in recognition of his outstanding philanthropy, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to the development of the Ketu South Municipality and the Somè Traditional Area.


The prestigious award was presented as part of activities marking the 50th Somètutuza Festival, celebrating his remarkable contributions to sports, health, education, and youth empowerment.


According to the citation, Torgbui Tenuvi II's generosity and dedication have brought tangible transformation to many communities across the municipality. The Traditional Council praised his continuous support for development initiatives, describing him as a shining example of how the vision and sacrifice of one individual can positively impact society.


The Council further noted that Torgbui Tenuvi II embodies the true spirit of Somètutuza through his commitment to unity, selfless service, and love for humanity. Chiefs, Queen Mothers, and the people of the Somè Traditional Area joined in celebrating him as a beacon of hope and a worthy son of the land.



The citation also expressed the hope that his exemplary works would continue to inspire the youth and future generations while praying for greater blessings and continuous success in his efforts to serve humanity.


The award was presented with profound gratitude by the Somè Traditional Council and was jointly signed by Torgbuiga Adamah III, President and Makorsor of the Somè Traditional Council, and Torgbui Geli III, Chairman of the Somètutuza Central Planning Committee.


Receiving the award on behalf of Torgbui Tenuvi II, Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, the NADMO Director of the Ketu South Municipality expressed his gratitude to Torgbuiga Adamah and the entire Somè Traditional Council for the honour. 


He noted that Torgbui Tenuvi II will continue to support the entire municipality in ways that he could.



"Torgbui Tenuvi is not for Aflao Traditional Council where he is the Youth and developmental chief alone, he is the entire municipality and he promised that no community will be left out, he will collaborate with all the chiefs and community leaders to take Ketu South to the next level" he concluded.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. His scale of operation includes maize 62.5 acres, Cassava 52 acres, Okro 10 acres, Cowpea 10 acres, Chilli Paper 5 acres, Coconut 5 acres, 20 Cattle, 30 goats, 10 sheeps, 10 Turkeys, 20 Guinea Fowls, 20 doves and 175 local poultry The over 60 years experience farmer receiving his award, thanked the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
