Somè Senior High School advances to the next stage after impressive debating performance


Somè Senior High School, popularly known as Great SOSEC, has once again demonstrated its academic prowess after defeating St. Paul’s Senior High School (SPACO) in the Pan-African Youth Clubs Debate Competition.


The keenly contested debate, held on Friday, 14th August 2026, at the DZOSEC Dining Hall, saw the Somè-based institution put up an impressive performance to edge past its opponent and secure a place in the next stage of the competition.


The victory has sparked excitement and pride among students, teachers, old students, parents and the entire SOSEC community, as the school continues to make its mark beyond the classroom.


The achievement is also a testament to the commitment, discipline and intellectual ability of the school's debate team, as well as the dedication of the trainers who have invested time and effort in preparing the participants for the competition.


The school has expressed profound appreciation to the trainers and the participating students for their hard work, commitment and outstanding performance, describing the feat as a significant stride in its continued pursuit of academic excellence.


The victory further reinforces Somè Senior High School's growing reputation as an institution capable of competing strongly on academic platforms.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
