Ketu South Concerned Customers to Demonstrate Against ECG Over-Billing on September 1.

Concerned customers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Ketu South Municipality are set to stage a peaceful demonstration on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, to protest what they describe as persistent over-billing, estimated bills and delays in resolving faulty meters.


The demonstration, according to the organizers, is aimed at drawing attention to concerns over what they consider unfair and inaccurate electricity billing practices and the difficulties customers face in getting complaints addressed.


According to the organizers, customers have experienced issues including outrageous estimated bills without actual meter readings, unexplained overcharging, delayed replacement or repair of faulty meters, and inadequate responses to complaints.


Under the theme “Enough Is Enough! Stop the Over-Billing Now!”, the concerned customers are calling for immediate action to ensure that electricity bills are based on accurate meter readings and that customers who have been wrongly charged receive appropriate adjustments.


They are also demanding greater transparency and accountability from ECG, as well as respect for the rights of electricity consumers.


The peaceful demonstration will begin at the Denu Junction at exactly 9am, from where participants will proceed to the ECG Office in Denu.


The organisers are therefore urging all concerned citizens, electricity consumers and residents of the Ketu South Municipality to come out in their numbers and participate peacefully in the demonstration.


They emphasised that the action is not merely about electricity bills, but about justice, dignity, accountability and the rights of consumers.


The organisers have further called on participants to remain peaceful and orderly throughout the exercise as they collectively make their concerns heard.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
