SSOSA Appeals for Support as Somè Senior High School Marks 60th Anniversary.

The Somè Senior High School Old Students Association (SSOSA) has appealed to old students, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), corporate institutions, the school’s partners and the general public to support the school as it prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary.


Somè Senior High School, located at Agbozume in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region, has reached six decades of providing quality education, nurturing young minds and producing individuals who continue to contribute to the development of society.


The grand durbar of the 60th anniversary celebration is scheduled for October 31, 2026, and is expected to bring together old students, current students, staff, parents, traditional leaders, dignitaries and friends of the school to commemorate the institution’s remarkable journey.


As part of activities to commemorate the milestone, SSOSA is calling on all stakeholders to demonstrate their commitment to the development of their alma mater by supporting the anniversary celebration and initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and the welfare of students.


The executives of the Old Students Association have urged former students to be proud of their alma mater and consider the 60th anniversary as an opportunity to give back and help strengthen the institution for present and future generations.


According to the Association, the celebration is not only about reflecting on the school’s achievements over the past 60 years but also about laying a stronger foundation for its future.


A major project being championed by the old students is the construction of an ultra-modern girls’ dormitory, which they intend to undertake after the anniversary celebration. The project is expected to significantly improve accommodation facilities for female students and create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.


SSOSA therefore encourages all old students, NGOs, development partners, corporate organisations, parents, friends of the school and the general public to support the 60th anniversary celebration and the projects that will follow.


The Association believes that with collective support, the legacy of Somè Senior High School can be preserved while creating better opportunities for generations of students yet to come.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
