Torgbui Tenuvi II Donates GH₵10,000 to Support Ketu South at Inter-Districts Sports Festival.

Mr. Felix Akonta Akakpo, popularly known as Torgbui Tenuvi II, a youth and developmental chief of the Aflao Traditional Council, has donated GH₵10,000.00 to support the Ketu South Municipal team participating in the 55th Inter-Districts Sports Festival.


The donation was presented through Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu to Mr. Stanley Kwawuvi, Sports Coordinator for the Ketu South Municipality, ahead of the festival scheduled to take place at Akatsi Senior High Technical School from Saturday, August 15 to Friday, August 21, 2026.


According to Torgbui Tenuvi II, the contribution follows a letter of support received from the Directorate a few weeks ago, which prompted him to consider how best he could contribute to the municipality's participation in the competition.



The donation is intended to help the young athletes as they seek to defend Ketu South's overall championship title won in 2025, when the municipality secured four out of the eight available trophies.


Torgbui Tenuvi II reaffirmed his commitment to education, describing it as his foremost priority and stressing the need to invest in initiatives that improve the academic and social development of children in Ketu South.


He, however, emphasized that education should not be limited to the classroom, noting that co-curricular activities, particularly sports, play a critical role in discovering and nurturing talents.


“Education remains my foremost priority. Over the years, I have endeavored to invest in initiatives that seek to transform the academic and social trajectory of children in Ketu South, and to position them as productive citizens of our community and nation.”



He added that sports provide young people with important opportunities to develop discipline, teamwork, resilience and other qualities necessary for their personal development.


The developmental chief acknowledged the numerous challenges confronting school sports, particularly the limited resources available to fully develop the sector.


He therefore called on individuals and other stakeholders to complement government efforts by supporting sports development, especially at the basic school level.


According to him, investing in school sports is essential to building the foundation for Ghana's future sporting excellence while helping young people discover and develop their God-given talents.


A total of 105 athletes will represent Ketu South in various sporting disciplines at the festival.


The contingent will compete in:


- Volleyball – Boys and Girls

- Soccer – Boys and Girls

- Athletics – Boys and Girls

- Handball – Boys

- Table Tennis – Boys


Torgbui Tenuvi II also extended his best wishes to the entire Ketu South contingent, saying he had personally interacted with the athletes through a video call before their departure.



He urged them to compete with determination, unity and sportsmanship while reminding them of the responsibility of representing their municipality.


“May you compete with fortitude, unity, and sportsmanship. Make Ketu South proud.”


The GH₵10,000 contribution is expected to provide timely support to the municipality's sporting campaign as the young athletes aim to retain the championship crown and further enhance Ketu South's reputation in inter-district school sports.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
