Dr. Stanley Nelvis Glate Declares Bid for NDC Volta Regional Secretary, Promises Radical Party Revival.

Dr. Stanley Nelvis Glate, a senior lecturer at the Ho Technical University and a long-serving member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of NDC Volta Regional Secretary.


Dr. Glate, who brings extensive experience in party organisation and political communication, was among the founding members of the Volta Regional Communication Team of the NDC. He also served as the Ho Central Constituency Secretary for 12 years and previously contested as a parliamentary aspirant for the Ho Central Constituency.


Declaring his intention to serve as Regional Secretary, Dr. Glate said his decision was motivated by a desire to strengthen the party's structures, improve coordination and position the NDC for victory in the 2028 general elections.


He said he had listened to and engaged constituency executives and branch members across the region and had reflected deeply on the state of the party, leading him to the conviction that the NDC needed “more than administration” but a complete revival.


“If given the opportunity to serve as Regional Secretary, I will work to make the NDC more visible, more coordinated, more attractive and better prepared to win elections,” he stated.


Dr. Glate's proposed revival agenda is built around three key pillars: a coordinated and professional secretariat, maximum visibility, and making the NDC attractive again.


On the first pillar, he said the Regional Secretariat must remain active beyond election periods and operate in a coordinated, professional and responsive manner.


He promised to pursue proper record-keeping, timely communication, a unified party calendar and effective coordination among the various wings of the party.


According to him, a strong secretariat would provide the organisational backbone needed to strengthen the party's constituencies and branches.


On maximum visibility, Dr. Glate argued that the NDC could not win elections if its presence was not consistently felt across the region.


He therefore pledged to work towards an NDC that could be “seen, heard and felt” in communities, on the ground, in the media and across digital platforms.


He also stressed the need for functional constituency offices, vibrant communication structures and a consistent party presence at the grassroots.


Dr. Glate further said the NDC must become a home for everyone, particularly young people, women, professionals, artisans, grassroots activists and floating voters.


He called for an inclusive, welcoming, disciplined and victory-oriented party environment capable of attracting and retaining people who share the party's ideals.


“Leadership is about service, organisation and results,” he said, adding that his ambition was not simply to occupy an office but to help build a stronger, more visible, more attractive and victorious NDC in the Volta Region.


Dr. Glate assured delegates of his hard work, commitment and dedication, promising to involve party members from the grassroots in the affairs of the regional administration.


He said the 2028 elections required the party to begin preparations immediately, stressing that the NDC must strengthen its structures well ahead of the polls.


“My decision is anchored on three values: Loyalty. Trust. Competence,” he declared.


He added that leadership was not about titles but about service, responsibility, organisation and the ability to bring people together towards a common purpose.


With his experience as a party communicator, constituency secretary and parliamentary aspirant, Dr. Glate believes he has the experience and understanding required to contribute to the next phase of the NDC's development in the Volta Region.


“The journey starts today. The work begins now,” he said.


Dr. Stanley Nelvis Glate concluded his declaration with the message: “Loyalty. Trust. Competence to Serve.”


His campaign slogan is: “Brewed by experience. Refined by service. Ready to lead.”

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
