Ho Municipal Assembly Rejects Reported GH¢5 Tricycle Fare Increase.

The Ho Municipal Assembly has rejected reports of an increase in fares charged by tricycle, popularly known as “can do,” operators within the Ho Municipality.


According to a press release issued by the Assembly on Monday, September 7, 2026, some tricycle operators have reportedly increased fares from GH¢3.00 to GH¢5.00, effective Monday.


The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Stephen Adom, has categorically stated that the Assembly does not support or endorse the reported fare increase, describing the adjustment as unacceptable.


The Assembly explained that no consultation or approval had been obtained from the appropriate authorities to justify the reported increase.


It said it is engaging relevant stakeholders, including representatives of tricycle operators, to establish the circumstances surrounding the fare adjustment and work towards an amicable resolution that protects the interests of both operators and commuters.


In the meantime, commuters have been urged not to pay the reported GH¢5.00 fare.


The Assembly said passengers should continue to pay the existing GH¢3.00 fare pending any officially approved adjustment communicated by the appropriate authorities.


The MCE has also called on tricycle operators to refrain from imposing the increased fare while discussions are ongoing.


The Assembly cautioned that unilateral fare adjustments could create unnecessary tension and hardship for members of the travelling public.


It further reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a fair and orderly transport system that takes into consideration the legitimate concerns of transport operators while protecting the interests and welfare of residents and commuters.


The Ho Municipal Assembly assured the public that further updates would be provided after engagements with the relevant stakeholders.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
