Ketu South MCE Announces Talent Development Fund to Support Youth, Students and Artisans.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu South has announced the establishment of the Ketu South Talent Development Fund (TADEF), an initiative aimed at supporting brilliant-but-needy students, young people in sports and promising artisans across the municipality.


According to the MCE, the initiative is a response to the growing number of requests for educational and sports assistance received within the first few months of assuming office.


The MCE said TADEF would reactivate a vital sponsorship scheme for talented but financially disadvantaged young people while complementing existing scholarship and capacity-building initiatives being undertaken by the Member of Parliament for Ketu South.


As an initial personal contribution towards the sustainability of the initiative, the MCE disclosed plans to contribute two months of his salary to seed the fund.


The initiative is also expected to receive support from corporate organisations, philanthropic individuals and institutions, members of the Ketu South diaspora and civil society organisations.


Political Leadership Forum


The announcement forms part of a broader forum on political leadership and capacity building scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the MCE’s residence at Tokor, beginning at 2:00 p.m.


The forum will bring together Constituency Executives, including aspirants, Ward Coordinators, former Constituency Executives, Zonal Chairmen, Zonal Women Organisers, party cadres and Assembly Members.


The programme will feature discussions on the theme:

“Political Leadership, Decent Campaign Strategies and Capacity Building in the Political Space in Ketu South.”


Speakers drawn from the local governance system are expected to share their experiences and engage participants on the importance of responsible political leadership, peaceful and decent campaign strategies, as well as capacity building within the political space.


The event is also expected to provide an opportunity for political actors and local government stakeholders to deliberate on ways of strengthening political participation and promoting constructive engagement in Ketu South.

The MCE said the launch of TADEF reflects a commitment to investing in the potential of young people across the municipality’s five zonal councils.


The fund is expected to create opportunities for talented young people who may otherwise struggle to pursue education, develop their sporting abilities or acquire the necessary support to advance their skills and trades.


The MCE expressed optimism that partnerships with the private sector, development partners, philanthropists, the diaspora and civil society would help expand the fund and make it sustainable.


The initiative, together with the political leadership forum, is expected to reinforce the municipality’s focus on youth development, responsible leadership and community advancement.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
