Ketu South MP Donates 2,000 Bags of Fertilizer to Party Members, Traditional Council.

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency and Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has donated 2,000 bags of 60kg fertilizer to members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the three Traditional Councils in the Ketu South Municipality.


The donation, which took place on Friday, September 18, 2026, was made at the forecourt of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly.


As part of the distribution, each of the three Traditional Councils received 100 bags of fertilizer, together with 10 boxes of streetlights to support security efforts within their respective traditional areas.


The remaining fertilizer was distributed among beneficiaries in the municipality, with each of the 41 wards receiving 15 bags, while each zone received 28 bags.


Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Gomashie disclosed that she had previously been supporting individual farmers with fertilizer and described the latest intervention as the second time she had undertaken such a large-scale donation.


She explained that her approach to development is guided by the principle, “Teach me how to fish but don't just give me fish,” stressing that farming is an important form of skills development and economic empowerment.


"I will support farming as I have been supporting skills training in tailoring, hairdressing, phone repairs and others,” she said.


The MP described the fertilizer donation as “support to family”, explaining that strengthening agricultural production would ultimately strengthen household incomes and the local economy.


According to her, farm produce does not benefit only the individual farmer but has the potential to support entire families through food production, income generation and other economic activities.


Hon. Gomashie also provided the beneficiaries with an undisclosed amount of money to assist with the transportation of the fertilizer to their various homes and communities.


On the streetlights, the MP explained that the items were intended to support the Traditional Councils with security, particularly as their annual festival celebrations approach.


She said improved lighting would help enhance visibility and security during the festivities and other community activities.


The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to Hon. Gomashie for the gesture and pledged to put the fertilizer and other items to their intended use.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
