President Mahama Dissolves Boards of Nine State Institutions.

President John Dramani Mahama has dissolved the Boards of nine state institutions with immediate effect.


The directive, contained in a statement issued by the Presidency on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, directs the relevant sector Ministers to take all necessary steps, in accordance with applicable laws and governing instruments, to give effect to the dissolution.


The affected institutions are:


1. Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited



2. Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST)



3. Volta Aluminium Company Limited (VALCO)



4. Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited (CBG)



5. Ghana Post Company Limited



6. Road Maintenance Trust Fund



7. TDC Ghana Limited



8. Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC)



9. National Sports Authority


According to the statement, the affected Boards will be reconstituted in due course.


The Presidency did not provide further details on the reasons for the dissolution in the statement.


The announcement was signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. Presenting the items on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worklatsi, at the premises of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly on Thursday, July 30, 2026, the Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr. Ferguson Ahorlu, noted that the value of the destroyed farms far exceeded the relief package provided.
