Torgbui Tenuvi II Supports 300 Best BECE Graduates in Ketu South.

The Youth and Development Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Mr. Felix Akonta Akakpo, popularly known as Torgbui Tenuvi II, has supported 300 outstanding Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates in the Ketu South Municipality with essential educational materials to facilitate their transition to Senior High School (SHS).


The presentation took place at Viepe R.C Basic School in the Ketu South Municipality, where each of the 300 beneficiaries received a student mattress, trunk, Ghana Education Service (GES)-approved chop box and bucket.


In total, 300 mattresses, 300 trunks, 300 chop boxes and 300 buckets were presented to the graduates.


The initiative forms part of Torgbui Tenuvi II's commitment to promoting education and youth development and easing the financial burden on parents whose children are preparing to enter SHS.


According to Torgbui Tenuvi II, the intervention represents an investment in the future of Ketu South, stressing that academic success should be accompanied by the necessary support to enable students to continue their education.


He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity, remain disciplined and return to the municipality as professionals who would contribute meaningfully to its development.


“This is my little way of saying: Ketu South appreciates you. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed. We are investing in you because you are the future of the Ketu South Municipality.”


As part of the programme, 46 outstanding BECE graduates received additional recognition for their academic performance.



The students were presented with citations and undisclosed cash awards as a reward for their excellence and to encourage them to maintain their high academic standards at the next level of education.


Torgbui Tenuvi II encouraged parents, teachers and other stakeholders to continue working together to keep children in school and reduce the risk of school dropout.


Torgbui Tenuvi also recognised the contribution of education managers and supervisors in improving learning outcomes in the municipality.


Seven laptops were presented to four selected headteachers and three School Improvement Support Officers (SISOs) whose performance and dedication were described as distinguished and commendable.


The gesture, according to Torgbui Tenuvi II, was intended to support educational supervision and recognise those working behind the scenes to improve education in Ketu South.


Torgbui Tenuvi II disclosed that the intervention had expanded significantly compared with the previous year.


He noted that while 50 students were supported in 2025, the number had increased to 300 beneficiaries in 2026, describing the development as evidence of his growing commitment to education and youth empowerment.


He stressed that the initiative would not be a “nine-day wonder”, assuring the people that he intended to sustain interventions that would create opportunities for young people and contribute to the broader development of Ketu South.


He said his vision as a Youth and Development Chief was to lead by example and pursue the development of the people with intentionality and inclusivity.



Torgbui Tenuvi II urged the graduates to view the educational materials not merely as items for use in SHS but as symbols of the dreams and aspirations they were carrying into the next phase of their lives.


He encouraged them to pursue their education with discipline, determination and excellence.


"Go to Senior High School and make Ketu South proud. Go and return as doctors, lawyers, nurses, teachers, engineers and leaders to build our communities.”


He further expressed appreciation to the three Paramount Chiefs who honoured the occasion with their presence, particularly Torgbui Dr. Addo IX, Paramount Chief of the Klikor Traditional Area, who chaired the programme.


He also thanked parents and guardians, the beneficiary graduates and all individuals who contributed to the success of the initiative.


Torgbui Tenuvi II said he looked forward to an even greater programme in 2027, expressing confidence that with God as the anchor and guiding light, the people of Ketu South would continue to overcome challenges and build a promising future.

89-year-old Fetish Priest crowned the overall Best farmer for 2025 in Ketu South.

  Torgbui Nuwordu, a fetish priest from Klikor has been crowned the overall best farmer in the Ketu municipal at the  41st National Best Farmers day held on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Agbozume Logove A M.E Zion School park.  He took home a tricycle, 10 cutlasses, 2 pairs of wellington boots, 4 bottles of herbicides, 4 bottles of insecticides, 1 spraying machine, 1 50kg bag of NPK, 1 50kg bag of Urea and a flat screen TV. Torgbui Nuwordu beat 8 other contestants. Government Provides Relief Support to Flood-Affected Irrigation Farmers in Ketu South.

The Government of Ghana has extended relief assistance to 15 irrigation farmers in the Ketu South Municipality whose farms were severely affected by recent devastating floods that impacted several parts of the country. The beneficiaries received assorted relief items, including fertilizers, mattresses, bags of rice, and cooking oil, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster.
