Ewe Loyalty Foundation Marks 5th Anniversary, Unveils Youth Empowerment and Sustainability Plans.

The Ewe Loyalty Foundation (ELF) has marked its fifth anniversary with a renewed commitment to humanitarian service, youth empowerment and sustainable community development across the Volta and Oti Regions and beyond.

The anniversary celebration was held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Masito Royal Hotel Conference Hall in Mepe, North Tongu District, under the theme, “Five Years of Serving Humanity Together: Celebrating Loyalty and Our Next Steps.”

Addressing members and invited guests, the Founder and Chairman of the Foundation, Mr Julius Kukubor, said the organisation was established in 2021 with the aim of promoting unity, friendship, compassion and collective responsibility while extending support to vulnerable people and communities.

According to him, the Foundation's motto, “Our Home, Our Loyalty,” reflects its determination to encourage people to take an active role in improving the welfare and development of their communities.

Mr Kukubor said that over the past five years, the Foundation had undertaken several humanitarian interventions, including supporting the In My Father's House Children Village at Abor and providing relief assistance to victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage in North Tongu.

The organisation has also assisted needy students and families with educational materials, sanitary pads, school uniforms, school fees, medical bills and emergency support.

He disclosed that more than GH¢90,000 had been spent on the Foundation's humanitarian activities, with much of the funding coming from contributions by members due to limited external donor support.

Despite the achievements, Mr Kukubor identified inadequate office equipment, the absence of a permanent office, logistical difficulties and inconsistent participation by some members as challenges confronting the organisation.

He said the Foundation would strengthen its administrative and financial systems, seek strategic partnerships and donor support, and work towards securing a permanent office.

As part of efforts to become financially sustainable, the Foundation also intends to establish income-generating ventures, including a fish farming project, to reduce its dependence on contributions from members.

A major highlight of the anniversary was the launch of a fundraising drive to acquire 20 sewing machines for a mechanised apprenticeship programme aimed at equipping young people with employable skills in fashion design and dressmaking.

Mr Kukubor said three young women had already expressed interest in enrolling in the programme, while a qualified trainer was ready to provide the necessary training.

He therefore appealed to corporate institutions, philanthropists, patrons and other well-meaning individuals to support the initiative and help create opportunities for young people.

The Foundation also demonstrated its commitment to healthcare delivery by donating medicines valued at GH¢2,000 to the Mepe Health Centre to help address shortages at the facility.

The donation was received by the Acting President of the Mepe Traditional Council and Special Guest of Honour, Torgbe Kwasi Nego VI, who commended the Foundation for its humanitarian and community development efforts.

The fifth-anniversary celebration provided the Foundation with an opportunity to reflect on its journey, assess its achievements and challenges, and outline measures aimed at strengthening its contribution to vulnerable people and communities in the years ahead.
