KETU SOUTH, Volta Region – Ege Bright Kwashie, Acting Volta Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has officially launched his campaign to become the substantive Regional Secretary, unveiling an ambitious seven-point policy agenda aimed at strengthening party administration, improving executive welfare and empowering grassroots members.

The campaign launch took place on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the residence of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ketu South, with party executives, delegates, supporters and other stakeholders expected to rally behind his bid for the regional secretariat position.

A native of Kpoglu Asorgor in the Ketu South Municipality, Ege Bright Kwashie is seeking to consolidate his administrative experience and institutional knowledge through what he describes as the “Reset Agenda,” a delegate-centred vision designed to reposition the NDC in the Volta Region for effective administration, organisational growth and sustained political relevance.

His campaign is anchored on the slogan “Edor ne yi dor dzi!” and the message “Experience and Continuity,” which he believes captures his readiness to lead the regional party administration while introducing reforms that respond to the aspirations of delegates and grassroots members.

Ege Bright Kwashie's candidacy is strengthened by his previous service as Deputy Regional Secretary under Hon. James Gunu, the current Volta Regional Minister, before succeeding him in an acting capacity following his appointment to the ministerial position.

His experience within the regional secretariat, according to his campaign message, provides him with the institutional familiarity and practical understanding required to effectively coordinate the party's daily operations, internal communications and administrative responsibilities.

The Regional Secretary position remains one of the most critical offices in the NDC's organisational structure, responsible for ensuring effective coordination between regional executives, constituency structures and grassroots members.

For Ege Bright Kwashie, his campaign represents an opportunity to preserve administrative continuity while introducing reforms that will strengthen the party's organisational structures and improve the welfare of its members.

At the centre of his campaign is a comprehensive seven-point Reset Agenda, which seeks to transform party administration through welfare initiatives, financial sustainability, infrastructure development, employment coordination, executive empowerment, accountability and modern administration.

The candidate is proposing life insurance policies for current and former constituency executives as well as party cadres, a measure intended to recognise their sacrifices and strengthen their personal security and welfare.

He is advocating decentralised party administration through commercial ventures at the constituency level, including farming and transportation, to generate sustainable internal revenue and reduce dependence on external financial support.

The agenda includes the construction of permanent and well-resourced constituency offices across all 18 constituencies in the Volta Region to improve administration, coordination and grassroots engagement.

Ege Bright Kwashie is also proposing a structured framework to connect party youth and faithful members to employment and empowerment opportunities, with the objective of promoting economic independence and personal development.

Another key proposal is the recognition of all former executives as delegates, a move intended to preserve institutional memory, recognise past contributions and strengthen participation in party decision-making.

The campaign is further advocating a binding performance contract with the eventual NDC flagbearer to guarantee developmental deliverables for the Volta Region and ensure that the region's priorities are reflected in national development commitments.

The final pillar focuses on digital archiving, strict administrative discipline, high operational standards and a merit-based awards system to promote efficiency, accountability and excellence within the regional secretariat.

Ege Bright Kwashie's campaign places considerable emphasis on strengthening the relationship between the regional leadership and constituency structures, arguing that effective party administration must be supported by functional offices, empowered executives and a financially sustainable organisational system.

His vision also seeks to recognise the contributions of party faithful who have served at various levels while creating opportunities for younger members to participate meaningfully in the party's development.

The proposed reforms, according to his campaign message, are intended to position the NDC in the Volta Region for stronger organisational coordination, improved internal accountability and sustained grassroots mobilisation.

As the contest for the Volta Regional Secretary position gathers momentum, Ege Bright Kwashie is appealing to delegates and party stakeholders to support his candidacy, which he says combines administrative experience with a renewed commitment to institutional reforms.

His supporters maintain that his previous roles as Deputy Regional Secretary and Acting Regional Secretary place him in a strong position to provide stability, preserve institutional knowledge and implement the Reset Agenda effectively.

With his campaign slogan “Edor ne yi dor dzi!” and the message “Experience and Continuity,” Ege Bright Kwashie is seeking to convince delegates that his leadership will strengthen the regional secretariat while promoting welfare, accountability and grassroots empowerment.

His campaign launch marks a significant step in his bid to become the substantive Volta Regional Secretary of the NDC, with a promise to build on existing administrative experience and reposition the party for greater organisational efficiency and development.
